Albemarle County Residence

The owners asked Dalgliesh Gilpin Paxton Architects to renovate their home, enhancing its connection to the landscape and fashioning comfortable, airy interiors in keeping with the architectural changes.  The interior design focused on softening the formality of their existing collection of French antiques and European art by incorporating contemporary furnishings and lighter Swedish antiques.  The subtle interior color palette honors the home’s mid-nineteenth century classical detailing, provides freshness, and complements the generous natural lighting created during renovation.
