Roanoke Residence
What began as a kitchen remodeling project evolved into the transformation of this entire house and property. The original classical revival home, circa 1925, had a dark kitchen, small bathrooms, minimal closet space and little connection to the landscape.
The new porch, terrace, water feature, and garden walls define the seldom-used side yard, now a beautiful outdoor room.
With a thoughtfully placed small addition, we expanded the kitchen and provided an inviting family room with connections to the new garden.
New interior furnishings, fabrics, and wallcoverings refreshed the living, dining room, and office, and highlight the owners’ beautiful art collection.
Upstairs, we reconfigured the plan, creating a primary bath and generous dressing areas, and opening the previously warren-like spaces.
