Free Union Residence

Our clients, avid gardeners who had traveled extensively in England, asked Dalgliesh Gilpin Paxton Architects to design a new home inspired by the charm of the English countryside.  The house is broken into a series of small, cottage-like sections, and the wood shingle roof features dormers, steep roof lines, and intersecting gables.  We designed the house to bring the outside in, with windows and doors opening onto gardens, courtyards, and terraces.  Inviting garden rooms, outlined by clipped hedges and perennial borders, envelop the house and pool.
