    Lee Chapel and Museum

Lee Chapel at Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia, is the final resting place of General Robert E. Lee.  Our charge was to convert this shrine and underutilized museum into a first class gallery, which is today on a par with the finest small museums in the nation.  Working closely with museum and exhibit designers, we created galleries which celebrate the Lee, Washington, and Custis family histories.  Mechanical systems were upgraded and disguised, in keeping with the historic nature of the project, and both the Museum and Chapel were made accessible to the disabled.
