Danielle Corbin  Associate AIA

Architectural Associate

Danielle joined Dalgliesh Gilpin Paxton Architects in 2023 after graduating from the University of Notre Dame as Valedictorian of her class with a Bachelor of Architecture. During college she actively enriched her education through academic engagements beyond the classroom. In 2019 she was one of ten students nationwide selected to participate in a fully funded US-UK Fulbright Summer Institute at the University of Strathclyde and the Glasgow School of Art centered around technology, innovation, and creativity. While participating in Notre Dame’s Rome Program during the summer of 2021, she studied urbanism and plein-air water coloring in Italy and, in the summer of 2022, she was the sole undergraduate student selected to participate in the David M. Schwarz Internship and Traveling Fellowship program. During a ten-week internship in Washington, D.C., she honed her skills building physical models, assisting in water coloring renderings of four new residential colleges at Vanderbilt University, and completing a hand-drawn schematic design package for an apartment complex in Newton, Massachusetts. Her travelling fellowship experience led her to the south of Spain to study Mudejar architecture and the Islamic courtyard building typology, research that informed her undergraduate thesis project: An Alternative School of Architecture and Craftsmanship in Havana, Cuba. She’s looking forward to representing AIA Central Virginia in the 2024 Emerging Leaders in Architecture Honors Academy.

Trained in classicism and in the arts of traditional drawing, water coloring, and hand-drafting, Danielle is passionate about designing by hand. Beyond work, she enjoys running, playing tennis, and oil painting. In all endeavors, she brings wholehearted enthusiasm, joy, and gratitude for life.
