DALGLIESH GILPIN PAXTON ARCHITECTS is the continuation of an architectural practice founded in 1933 by Milton L. Grigg FAIA. Prior to establishing his practice in Charlottesville, Virginia, Mr. Grigg was involved in the restoration of Colonial Williamsburg. His respect for tradition continues to be a focus of our work today.
We believe in complementary solutions to a site's landscape and the region's vernacular architecture. We work in collaboration with our clients, builders, and craftsmen, in direct response to each project's unique program, site, and budget.
Sustainable design, energy efficiency, and a connection to the world outside have been part of our practice for decades. We strive to integrate new technologies with time-tested building methods to reach the highest quality in design and construction. Our projects have taken us throughout the United States, to the Caribbean Islands, and to sites of national importance - from Williamsburg to monuments in Washington, D.C.
During the firm's almost 80 years of continuous service, we have had experience with many architectural styles and building types, from single-family residential to the adaptive re-use of historic structures. Our diverse abilities and commitment to maintaining and enhancing the built environment have earned us widespread recognition.
